MassMutual will now use a simpler method to collect client medical history by leveraging the online CMI (client medical interview) for more clients, which can expedite the process and make it more convenient. The online CMI has been expanded to a wider range of ages and amounts and—with physical measurements—will replace paramedical exams (parameds).
Online CMI expanded
Refer to the Online CMI Expanded flyer (U1039) for more information. Applies to all MassMutual life products with the exception of Survivorship or CareChoice products.
- Ages 17-60, amounts $3,000,001 up to and including $10 million will use the online client medical interview and physical measurements instead of a paramed; an Electronic Inspection Report (EIR) will no longer be obtained.
- Ages 61-70, amounts up to and including $10 million also will use the CMI and physical measurements instead of a paramed; an EIR will no longer be obtained.
- Lab tests will continue to be required.
- Leverage the new Age and Amount Requirements Calculator to easily determine
the requirements needed. - Applications submitted before Feb. 22 will use a paramed.
- Applications submitted on or after Feb. 22 will use the CMI and physical measurements.
- Eligible clients will receive an email from the MassMutual CMI team at MMCMI@MassMutual.com within 24 hours after we receive their application with a link to the CMI for completion.
Note: MMSD Underwriting will continue to accept other company exams and will only require a MassMutual non-medical Part 2.
